What happens when mothers come together to celebrate their personal advocacy of wellness? A Wellness Moms Movement emerges - a movement of change by mothers rallying as one for a better and healthier lifestyle not just for the kids but for the whole family. Yesterday, November 24, 2016, Wellness Moms by Procter & Gamble and Robinsons Supermarket was officially launched together with celebrity mothers, Nikka Martinez-Garcia (wife of actor Patrick Garcia) and actress Denise Laurel at Marco Polo Hotel in Ortigas, Pasig City. Different aspects of motherhood—Baby, Family/Household, and Personal Wellness—were openly discussed by the celebrity mom guests Denise Laurel, Nikka Martinez-Garcia, and host Issa Litton during the talk which highlighted as well P&G’s own wellness products and how they fit into one's life. For example, Mom’s son returns home after playing outside, washing his hands with Safeguard for 99.9% germ protection before eating dinner. After mealtime, Mom can now easily wash away the grease of the dirty disheswith Joy Antibac, as well as any stains on her son’s clothes with Ariel Power Gel. Night time arrives and her baby daughter needs to sleep, so Mom soothes baby with Vicks Baby Rub, putting on her Pampers for a dry, peaceful sleep, covering her in a soft, comfy blankie, thanks to Downy Baby Gentle. These wellness products and their home benefits were presented in the Mealtime Tips and Bedtime Tips Wellness videos released online. Moms shared their personal tips and bytes of advice to one another, talking about how Wellness Mom products have helped make their life at home an easier, safer, healthier and happier one. Also, to further showcase the unity of this movement, a special Moms for Wellness mosaic wall made up of photos of different moms around the country was also revealed. The media launch of the new Wellness Moms movement was not only an informative event, but also a fun gathering of moms who only want what’s best for their families. With games, new knowledge, and special P&G and Robinsons Supermarket giveaways, moms made their way home with an extra push of encouragement and motivation to continue living the Wellness Moms life. During end of the year, i'm sure all of you would agree that it is the time when our skin gets the most attention. Living in a tropical country during the most unpredictable season of the year, where the weather swings from sunny and humid to cold and wet in minutes, on top of all the sugar, alcohol and greasy holiday treats, it can really wreak havoc on our skin. So, as part of our new year's resolutions, the promise to make an effort to take better care of our skin is one of those promises we made to ourselves. Of course, it entails different activities such as eating healthy foods (a lot of greens, water, and fiber), getting enough sleep and a lot of exercise helps. Unfortunately, the since the season to be merry, jolly, and bright is just around the corner, and believe me, it is nearly impossible to say no to all the revelry. So here’s an insider tip: Argan oil. What is Argan Oil? Drawn from trees that grow in the southern region of Morocco, argan oil is a rich blend of antioxidants, vitamin A and E, polyunsaturated fat, and essential fatty acid. It’s literally food for hair and skin, eases inflammation, and gives it a boost of moisture from within that lends itself to an inner glow—the hallmark of healthy skin. The great news is that you can get all the benefits of argan oil can from just mixing a few drops of argan oil into your trusty, go-to beauty products or by directly applying it onto your skin. This makes it a very versatile addition to your beauty routine. So nice, is it? That said, here’s an even better insider tip: just in time for the upcoming holidays, you can buy one bottle of Argan Oil from Nailaholics and get one free at any Nailaholics branch. Yes, you read it right! Free another one! Nice deal! It’s a small price to pay for a product that can really serve as your night time moisturizer, a skin toner, makeup remover, whole body moiturizer, leave-in hair conditioner and can also be a cure for acne, stretchmarks and razor bumps and burns. “It’s important to note though that you get the real deal. So be sure to get it from somewhere that has a longstanding reputation of reliability and quality. It’s the concentration of argan oil that allows you to receive all its benefits, so make sure you’re getting it from a brand that can be trusted when they say that they are giving you a bottle with no artificial preservatives,” ends Arvin Amaro, Marketing Head. Now, stepping inside a Nailaholics branch doesn’t just welcome you into a world of pampering, you’re actually taking your first step towards the Maldives; a destination recognized as this year’s best spa destination by industry, known for its clear, cobalt waters, hugged by a stretches of fine, delicate sand. “Perhaps no other coastal destination has been so closely associated with the concept of relaxation,” says Glaiza Agbayani, Digital Manager “This is why we chose Maldives as the perfect holiday treat for our loyal customers.” From November 10 to January 27, availing of any of the Nailaholics package services will entitile customers to one raffle entry for the chance to win a trip for two to the Maldives. But as if these perks weren’t enough, Hey Sugar is sweetening the deal even more. From November 10 to January 23, you can be one of three lucky winners who can bring home an Apple Macbook Air. Good news! As christmas comes early with Dairy Queen. They recently introduce their latest holiday offerings that will definitely satisfy our dessert cravings! Our favorite creamy and smooth DQ soft serve gets a splash of Christmas colors with its Blizzard of the Month: the M&M's Red and Green. Well, since its the color of Christmas. Last November 16, just got back from my recent trip. I had the pleasure to meet our 2016 Miss Universe Philippines and 2016 Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental, Maxine and Jennifer. They were there during the Dairy Queen's exclusive event at The Oasis - the first ns only air-conditioned, open-air floating garden restaurant located in Gateway Mall, Araneta Center. These beauty queens are the brand ambassadors of the latest DQ Blizzard. Everyone was excited to get the first dibs on the newest cool mouthwatering treats! I was able to got a taste of them all, yes! all! My favorite is the Pistachio! The three new holiday flavors are as follows:
Other DQ favorites are also getting a holiday makeover for the whole month of December. The classic Dilly Bar also now comes in shape of a Christmas Tree with red and green drizzles on top which is only Php 39.00 and for only Php 749.00, you can spread some Christmas love with the Santa Reindeer Ice Cream Cake, the same well-loved vanilla flavored ice cream cake with a Christmas-themed toppers. For more information and updates, feel free to visit DQ's website: www.dairyqueen.com.ph Living in a tropical country certainly has a lot of perks. Perpetually sunny days, year-round airy summer fashion, and an annual healthy glow thanks to a regular dose of vitamin D. This also means it’s nearly always sandal-seaon. While not necessarily a drawback, it does take a lot of work to make sure your tips and toes are perpetually ready to be on display. This is probably the reason, on top of the need to indulge in some much needed me-time, why you frequent your favorite nail salon so much. But Nailaholics is making it a whole lot easier for you to make sure you keep your tips and toes in top shape, get pampered, and keep coming back for more. “Each visit to Nailaholics beginning November 21 until March 31 means you’re pampering yourself for a bonus little treat,” says Lorraine Baterina. Avail of your regular manicure and pedicure or indulge in one of Nailaholics’ signature packages and treatments and make sure that you get you Pampering Card stamped. Get five stamps and you get your sixth mani-pedi for free. “This is our way of making sure that you’re hands and feet are completely ready no matter what season, and of course, letting our loyal customers know that we appreciate them,” ends Lorraine Baterina, Brand Officer. When I quit my corporate job. Being a virtual assistant is one of my plan. But honestly, I don't fully know how it works. I know you will do remote works but how to apply and be hired is what I need to learn. So when I saw an invite regarding a workshop. I eagerly signed-up. Luckily, I was included to be part of the event. The event was help at Bluefin Grill in Metro Walk, Pasig City. It started before 9am for registration up to 10am then it formally started. A prayer, welcome remarks and a jolly exercise took place at the initial part. I really enjoyed the program. I feel more comfortable since its not too formal. Ms. Roche, the major speaker is very approachable. All questions were answered clearly. Most of the time she shares her experiences to better explain a certain situation. She also shared her journey on how she became what she is now. Angela, one of Ms. Roche's former student also shares her journey as a VApreneur and how she transforms her passion on photography as her work. She's very soft-spoken and humble person. The discussion was very informative and the activity made it more interctive. I was amazed as everyone are very coopertive, yes, walang "KJ" (kill-joy). Sharing of answers and their stories made the workshop even more enjoyable. Payoneer's country manager was also present in the workshop. He explained how Payoneer works and helps VA's earn more on savings on bank charges. Before the end of the workshop, questions and answers took place. Still, the questions made us all enlightened on how VApreneur works and learn more on what it has to offer and how to deal with it. Help was aldo extended by Ms. Roche in case we still have questions after the workshop. At the end of the course, I am more inspired to be one of them. Not just a virtual assistant but as an VApreneur. Thank you Ms. Roche, MAS, Ms. Nice and Ms. Sharlane for another one of a kind experience. Looking forward on more learnings from all of you.

We Filipinos normally want to talk and bond with out families. Discussing our past events, catching-up with family and friends, checking out future plans as well but did we ever talk about retirements, health and insurance? Hmm... more or less this is topics are not normally being discussed, am I right? Nowadays, we should all be dealing with topics concerning life and death. For me, its the most practical way to prepare ourselves and of course, our families. Yes, it may sound absurd to talk about illnesses and death but I guess planning for this, well for me is more of making your family more secured even if you passed away. Let's face it. We'll all go through that. Why not make sure your loved ones will not carry all the burden afterwards. There are some reasons why we don't want to talk about insurance. 1. It's depressing. 2. We don't know who to ask about this. 3. We have too little or what we have are wrong information. 4. Lastly, I know, you'll agree with me. There is always a lack of trust. According to Sun Life and SWS's study, Personal illness, death of a breadwinner, illness by a family member and retirement are the top financials that concerns us but what we are actually preparing for is Education, Health, Personal celebrations like birthdays, fiestas, etc. and Retirement surprisingly is nearly at the bottom. Based on studies, the State of Philippine Health Care are as follows: 1,857 hospitals, only 12 beds per 10,000 population, one (1) physician per 1,000 people. Around Php 10,000 is the average PhilHealth payment. Yes, this is a sad truth that limited persons can be accommodated and the subsidy is not enough. Then we have to deal as well on the expenses when someone died and the series of procedures to take care of. The process when a person dies, basically the Assets will be frozen unless taxes has been properly paid then that is the proper way to transfer the assets to its heirs. But we need to discuss first what are the taxable in order to be knowledgeable. Land, House and Car are the normal assets that people has is subject to tax. Same with the Stocks owned, Art Paintings are also taxable especially those valuable paintings. And Livestock, yes, you read it right. Livestock are also subject to tax. For the family of the deceased, there are some Basic Deductions that are allowed by the government. This is in order to ease the burden of the family in shouldering the expenses. These are as follows: ๏ Funeral expenses - allowed is up to Php 200,000.00 that are related to the funeral expenses. ๏ Previously taxed properties are also included ๏ Family home amounting to Php 1 Million is allowed to be deducted ๏ Standard deduction of Php 1 Million, and ๏ Medical expenses allowed is Php 500,000.00 How to choose a plan
When we already open to have a security. Getting an insurance is advisable. But hey, it would not mean that it will cover everything. I just means that it will help you and your family to have something to use after you died. Remember that, the assets will be frozen, so unless everything is settled. then that's the time that it can be divided. Here are some ways on how to choose a plan. 1. Talk about it with those involved (family) It is necessary to talk with your family regarding this matter. This is to explain it and make them understand the pros and cons of this. It is important that they know about this and how the insurance will work for your family. 2. List down how much you need and be clear about it Once they are aware of the plan. It is also necessary that they know the amount of the plan and explain as well how it goes. 3. Budget for it. Then one you already chose the right product for you, check your finances and budget it. It is necessary to check your expenses and be able to know which of those can be eliminated so that your budget won't sacrifice. 4.Shop for products Last and final step is to buy the product the you think will suit to your need and of course budget. It is also a driving force of the brand as it creates, curates stories and organizes events which aims to inspire others to travel with passion and purpose. It is an online community of creatives with a passion for adventure and storytelling based in the Philippines. Two years ago, Ayen thought of making her own christmas gift. She contacted Rachel, the best person she knew who could help her bring the idea to life. So this is how the planner started. It was inspired by their love for travel. Who would have thought that a single idea will be loved and make other people be inspired to travel. Last Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Women Nation Foundation Wine Night, I met a little lady named Pauline. We were early at the hotel, we were able to chat while waiting for the program to start. She even added me on Facebook. I thought she was just a daughter who was tagged along by her mother at the event. Little I know, she was a singer. It was only when Ms. Grace of Tag Media told me that she will be the first to perform on stage.
She's really talented. I watched her performance and even made a Facebook live video for her. How I wish, I have that talent too, frustrated singer and dancer here, hahaha.
I wish we have more time to talk but they have to leave early as she has a radio guesting at DZRH. By the way, she's also nominated for the 2016 PMPC star awards for music and she has an album already. Wow!
Well, I don't know her personally but I can say, her parents raised her well. With the attitude I saw during that night. Her patience while we were waiting for the event to start. I never saw her any signs of boredom. I also remember when she wanted to taste the wine and her mom told her not to because she's still young, she obediently followed and gave a quick smile and said, "Picture lang mommy". It makes me silently smile too, you can see the innocence of a little girl in her. It was nice to have met a girl who is so jolly, humble and kind-hearted.
With her determination and positive attitude, I know, she will make a name in the entertainment industry. With that, I hope that she will stay grounded, pursue more and love her chosen craft and be an inspiration to the people around her especially the youth.
